On the occasion of Matera European Capital of Culture 2019, at the end of July, we planned the final meeting of the LUCity project.

We have organized more events: the presentation of the project outputs and a free workshop on the tools to assess the impact of small festivals on the territory.

from Anecdote to Evidence: Making the case for your festival's impact

With Dr Steve Millington, Manchester Metropolitan University

This workshop will utilise the expertise of those who research festivals and places at Manchester Metropolitan University to share their knowledge to equip you will skills and techniques to make a stronger case using data that goes beyond anecdotes and gut feelings!

This will be a hands-on, practical workshop with aim of translating academic research into places and festivals into practical application that you can implement at your festival.

Aimed at community/voluntary-led and small-scale festival/events organisers, this event will offer insight into how to evidence the impact that your festival makes on the place where it happens.

You will come away armed with ideas of how to capture meaningful data about how your community feel about your festival/events; how it impacts on their lives and community; and how you can turn anecdotes to evidence!
