    Parasite 2.0 are Stefano Colombo, Eugenio Cosentino, and Luca Marullo. They are based in Milan and Brussels. They investigate the status of human habitats, acting within a hybrid of architecture, design and art. They have worked and collaborated with ar\ge Kunst (Bozen, 2019); Damien and The Love Guru (Brussels, 2019); MAMbo Museo d’Arte Moderna in Bologna (2018); Terraforma Festival (Milan, 2017 and 2018); domesti.city (New York, 2018); 501(c)3 Foundation (Los Angeles, 2017); Marres (Maastricht, 2017); XX Chilean Architecture Biennale (Valparaiso, 2017); Venice Architecture Biennale (2012, 2014 and 2018); MAXXI Museo Nazionale delle Arti del XXI (Rome, 2016), among others. They have led didactic activity at the Piet Zwart Institute in Rotterdam, Faculté d’architecture de l’université libre de Bruxelles, Design Academy Eindhoven and Politecnico di Milano. They taught at NABA Nuova Accademia Belle Arti Milano, and since 2016 they have been regularly teaching at MADE Program-Accademia di Belle Arti R. Gagliardi in Syracuse, Italy. Parasite 2.0 are represented by Operativa Arte Contemporanea Gallery and Galleria Corraini Arte Contemporanea.

What is it about?


Make Open Source Primitive Again è un workshop della durata di 4 giorni che mira alla produzione di una serie di oggetti mescolando l’utilizzo di moderne macchine a controllo numerico con processi manuali sperimentali.

Partendo dalla tanto attesa e mai arrivata terza rivoluzione industriale dei maker e delle stampanti 3D sulle scrivanie di casa nostra, il progetto in maniera ironica prova a ritornare ad un’estetica primitiva, ad un uomo che per sopravvivenza è sempre stato homo-faber.

Si lavorerà sulla produzione di una serie di oggetti partendo dai materiali e dalle macchine icona dei fablab facendole scontrare con processi rudimentali e grezzi di approccio alla materia che ricordano l’infanzia del design legato alla sopravvivenza, quella dell’uomo primitivo.

Output finale sarà una sorta di mostra in cui gli oggetti andranno a comporre un ambiente.

Si impara come si lega un concept forte ad un manufatto.
Si impara come produrlo, utilizzando macchinari a controllo numerico ma anche processi manuali sperimentali.
Si impara a costruire un racconto alle spalle di questi oggetti e a veicolarlo attraverso la documentazione fotografica.

How does it work?


Il workshop è volto a comprendere come le arti visive incontrano il disegno industriale e la progettazione di ambienti, e come tali possano diventare veicolo di significati altri e non meri oggetti funzionali.
